Aśva – The Socio-Communicative Typography Design Project (Font + VR Installation)
ABOUT PROJECT
In the age of globalization, local cultures are often overlooked in favor of foreign culture influences. The socio-communicative typography design project 'Aśva' (from Sanskrit – horse) aims to reconnect with Baltic cultural roots. Inspired by unique Lithuanian and Latvian jewelry, the project creates a Baltic zoomorphic ornament-inspired font. Amidst Ukraine's fight for national identity presrvation, 'Aśva' in this situation underscores the importance of native language and cultural heritage for Lithuanian unity. The project features a display font 'Ashva' and a virtual reality installation (VR) 'Roots’ Tunnels', allowing users to explore the deep cultural layers of the Baltic tribes.
