Display Hybrid Font Kanklina
ABOUT PROJECT
Kanklina – A display hybrid font that seamlessly blends typographic elements of serif and sans-serif letters, creating a distinctive and unique aesthetic. The main idea is a combination of elements that create both contrast and elegance. The static and heavy left side meets the graceful right. Large slab serifs also appear, anchoring the letters firmly on the baseline.
The font is inspired by the kanklės, a stringed instrument from Lithuanian mythology and folklore, which is also reflected in its name. The font also includes Baltic symbols, such as the cross, the well, and the fir tree, in its symbol set. It serves as a bridge between emojis and ancient symbols.
